The issue of deporting illegal Indian migrants was one of the topics discussed during PM Modi’s bilateral meeting with Donald Trump and on the other hand two more US flights with illegal migrants is set to land in punjab on February 15-16.
Two more special flights from the United States, carrying illegal Indian immigrants, will land in Amritsar, Punjab, over the weekend. This information was shared in a letter from the Ministry of External Affairs to the Bureau of Civil Aviation. The news comes on the same day Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the issue with US President Donald Trump, saying that India is “fully prepared” to take back “verified” Indian citizens living illegally in America.
The first flight, carrying 119 Indian deportees, will land in Amritsar on February 15 at 10:05 pm. The second flight will arrive on the night of February 16. The first flight will have 67 passengers from Punjab, 33 from Haryana, and 19 from Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
According to the sources all the arrangements have been made by the airport authorities and the local administration for the deportees.
