All-women SIT to probe Chandigarh University video leak case

Chandigarh: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of three women will carry out a probe in a case related to Chandigarh University video leak. Following the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, a high-level investigation “will be done”.

The DGP Punjab said, “Following CM’s orders, high-level probe will be done. 3-member all-women SIT will conduct investigation under supervision of Senior IPS officer Gurpreet Deo.”

He added that the Police has arrested three accused so far including the accused girl and two people from Himachal Pradesh.

Their electronic devices has been confiscates as well.

Girl filmed 60 girls while taking bath 

On Sunday, a female student of Chandigarh University was caught by the warden and other students. The girl have been shooting videos of other girls in the hostel while taking bath. The accused used to share the videos with her boyfriend, she admitted.

The whole incident created panic and disgust in the nation. Following the revelations, students of the university held a massive protest on Sunday demanding #Justicforgirls.

Initially, the accused told that she had filmed 60 girls.
