Akhilesh Yadav: ‘Three crore names may be cut from UP voter list, Govt is putting pressure on BLOs’

Akhilesh said, "We observed that the BJP celebrated Constitution Day this morning... however, they are the ones who have caused the most damage to the Constitution. The greatest right granted by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar-the vote-appears to be under threat as they attempt to deprive millions of people of their right to vote through various excuses."

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday claimed that “three crore names can be excluded” from the voter list in Uttar Pradesh. He alleged that the Election Commission is putting pressure on Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to get the enumeration forms filled by citizens.

Akhilesh said that the pressure on BLOs prompted them to end their lives. He said a teacher from the Yadav community in Gonda and a teacher belonging to the Koiri community died by suicide. He added that the deaths of several BLOs are being reported.

‘BJP has caused the most damage to the Constitution’
Akhilesh said, “We observed that the BJP celebrated Constitution Day this morning... however, they are the ones who have caused the most damage to the Constitution. The greatest right granted by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar-the vote-appears to be under threat as they attempt to deprive millions of people of their right to vote through various excuses. In UP, conspiracies, intrigues, and officials are being used to cut the votes of millions of people... Officials are being appointed on the basis of caste.”

He added, “In the name of Bangladesh, they are plotting conspiracies in West Bengal. Forget secularism; they don't understand the true meaning of secularism... There are no socialists left in their government, no secularism any longer, and with the SIR, they have threatened our democracy as well.”
