New Delhi: The government has appointed the Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh to be the next Chief of the Air Staff.
Amarpreet Singh will assume the position of the Chief of Air Staff From September 30. He is appointed at the place of Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM, and ADC who is all set to retire on the same day.

Who Is Amar Preet Singh?
Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh became the 47th Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force on February 1, 2023. He started his career in the Indian Air Force in 1984.
Singh was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on December 21, 1984. Before leading the important Central Air Command (CAC), he worked as the Senior Air Staff Officer at the Eastern Air Command.
He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, and National Defence College. He has all ranks from Flight Commander and Commanding Officer of a MiG-27 squadron to Air Officer Commanding an air base.
