Over 240 people were killed when an Air India aircraft crashed near Ahmedabad in June. Additionally, it is estimated that Air India lost roughly Rs 4,000 crore as a result of Pakistan’s airspace restriction. Due to the military conflict between India and Pakistan, Pakistan blocked its airspace to Indian airlines in May. As of yet, Air India has not responded to the report.

Campbell Wilson, the CEO and managing director of Air India, has stated that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau’s (AAIB) preliminary study on the Ahmedabad airplane disaster identified no flaws in the airline’s operations or procedures. Wilson stated during the Aviation India 2025 Summit that the July report found no issues with Air India’s protocols or aircraft maintenance that required modification.
