On Tuesday, five Indian flights were grounded after receiving bomb threats, which later turned out to be hoaxes. The flights affected included the Delhi-Chicago Air India flight, the Jaipur-Bengaluru Air India Express, the Dammam-Lucknow IndiGo flight, the Darbhanga-Mumbai SpiceJet flight, and the Siliguri-Bengaluru Akasa Air flight.
Bomb Threats Issued via X Handle
The threats were made via a social media account on X (formerly Twitter), targeting four flights: Air India Express (IX765) from Jaipur to Bengaluru via Ayodhya, SpiceJet (SG116) from Darbhanga to Mumbai, Akasa Air (QP1373) from Siliguri to Bengaluru, and Air India (AI127) from Delhi to Chicago. The threats were publicly directed at the airlines and police authorities through posts on X.
Security Checks and Precautionary Measures
Security agencies conducted thorough checks in response to the threats. The Delhi-Chicago flight was diverted to Canada for security screening, while the Air India Express flight underwent inspection at Ayodhya airport. The SpiceJet and Akasa Air flights landed safely, with all necessary security protocols followed.

Previous Hoax Threats
This incident occurred just a day after a similar bomb scare on Monday, where three international flights from Mumbai were targeted. Those threats were also declared hoaxes after extensive security drills were carried out by intelligence agencies, airlines, and airport operators.
Investigation Underway
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is collaborating with cybersecurity agencies and police authorities to track down the source of these fake bomb threats. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the hoaxes.
