Air India-Airbus partnership: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday virtually attended the announcement of the new Air India-Airbus partnership. Under this partnership, Tata group will purchase 220 aircraft from Airbus. It is the world’s largest aviation transaction in history.
PM Modi thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for his participation in the launch of the Air India-Airbus partnership. He said that the agreement demonstrates India and France’s “deepening ties” and is a reflection of India’s successes and expectations in the civil aviation sector.

“I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on this historic agreement between Air India and Airbus,” PM Modi said in his remarks. “I’d like to thank my friend President Macron in particular for his participation in this event.” This is crucial.
“This significant transaction not only demonstrates India and France’s ever-deepening relations. However, they also reflect India’s achievements and expectations in the civil aviation sector,” he added.
PM Modi stated that the civil aviation sector is an essential component of India’s development and that strengthening civil aviation is an important component of India’s national infrastructure strategy. He claimed that the number of airports in India has increased from 74 to 147 in the last eight years.
Biden calls Partnership historic
American President Joe Biden has also praised this partnership. He said, “America can and will lead the world in manufacturing. I am proud to announce today the agreement and purchase between Air India and Boeing is historic.”
Biden further added he is looking forward to further deepening the relationship between India and America under the Modi government rule.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi “had a warm and productive” phone call with US President Joe Biden in which the two leaders welcomed the landmark agreement between Air India and Boeing as a “shining example of mutually beneficial cooperation”.
The two leaders were pleased with the expansion of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, which has resulted in robust growth across all domains. They expressed a strong desire to expand bilateral cooperation in areas such as space, semi-conductors, supply chains, and defence co-production.
