The annual report from the State Road Safety Council shows that the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) achieved all 21 safety requirements. YEIDA asked IIT-Delhi to examine the road safety of the expressway that extends across six districts from Gautam Budh Nagar to Aligarh to Mathura to Hathras to Agra to Bulandshahr in August 2018. IITDelhi released a comprehensive safety report in 2019 after its audit process which contained essential measures to boost driving safety. A recent annual report from the State Road Safety Council verified that the entire 165-km expressway has met every single requirement of road safety criteria. Additional signboards before exit ramps together with removing unnecessary lane markings and adding rumble strips at entry and exit points and installing crash attenuators form the safety recommendations of IIT-Delhi to reduce noise impact on exit ramps. The corridor received audible markings on its shoulders while all markings on the shoulders disappeared completely. Central dividers were changed into flush medians and new central guardrails were installed in addition to having shoulder guardrails fully reinstated to maintain safety levels. The emergency response capabilities of the expressway stand stronger thanks to its three Quick Response Team (QRT) vehicles and 11 patrolling vehicles, six ambulances, five fire trucks, nine cranes, and two JCBs. The expressway gets its medical support from trauma centers established near key areas to deliver swift medical care to accident victims. To attain fast emergency assistance during crises the ‘Yamuna Saathi’ mobile application and no-cost helpline were established. Apart from this, speed limit boards were planted
