New Delhi: The Delhi Court Thursday extended the police custody of Shraddha murder accused Aftab Poonawala for the next five days.
The Police submitted in the court that the accused Aftab is to be taken to Uttrakhand and Himachal Pradesh for investigation. The court also allowed the police application seeking permission for the Narco analysis test of accused Aftab.
In a spine-chilling incident in Delhi’s Mehruali area, the accused, Aftab, was in a live-in relationship with a girl named Shraddha from Mumbai. Aftab killed Shraddha and chopped off his body parts, dumping them in the Mehrauli forest on May 18, after the two had a fight. The accused used to go out around 2 a.m. every day to dump the body parts.
‘She was repeatedly pressuring for marriage, she used to argue about the house expenses,’ Aftab Poonawal’s statement explains why Shraddha Walker was murdered. However, police believe Walker was pregnant at the time of the murder.
This, however, cannot be determined based on the pieces of her body discovered. According to media reports, the police are searching for Shraddha’s chat and doctor’s prescription so that it can be revealed.
