After May 15, residential high-rise societies operating without lift registration will invite legal action, said Gautam Budh Nagar district administration. The directives come after the additional district magistrate (ADM Finance) chaired a meeting with other slate holders, including UPPCL and RWAs.
During the meeting, the power department was also directed to choose a location where charging points for private EVs will be set up in societies. “Several residential societies are still operating lifts without registration, which can be a serious safety risk. This needs immediate compliance,” said deputy registrar of firms, societies & chits Rishabh Agrawal as quoted by HT.
ADM Atul Kumar said non-compliance with the directive will invite legal action after May 15.
Indeed, there are more than 80,000 lifts in Gautam Budh Nagar, with just a little more than 5,500 of them registered. Regarding the infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs), officials pointed out that although the number of EVs in Noida and Greater Noida is increasing quickly, there are still not enough charging stations available, particularly in group housing complexes.
