Seven days after the rape of a 6-year-old girl in Panjra, Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh, police arrested the accused, Salman, from the Gandhi Nagar area of Bhopal. Salman alias Nazar was absconding from November 21, after brutally raping a child. A reward of ₹30,000 had been announced for the accused. As soon as Salman arrived at the stall for tea, the police immediately apprehended him.
Twenty teams of over 300 police personnel from six districts were continuously searching for the accused, while Hindu organisations, along with the victim’s family, had given a two-day ultimatum to the police.
On the 21st, the 23-year-old accused, Salman alias Nazar, raped a 6-year-old girl and fled. The girl is battling for her life in a hospital in Bhopal.
After the arrest, when the Goharganj police were taking him to Raisen, he tried to escape after the jeep’s tyre got punctured. The police were then forced to shoot him in the leg during the encounter to stop him from fleeing.
After completing the necessary procedures, the police handed Salman over to Goharganj police. The arrest took place in Ward No. 11 of the Gandhinagar police station area of Bhopal. During interrogation, the accused revealed that he had reached Bhopal via the forest route. Upon learning of Salman’s arrest, workers of the Jai Maa Bhavani Hindu Sangthan (Hindu Sangthan) rushed to the police station, but the accused had already been handed over to Goharganj police.
Salman arrested while having tea at a shop
The police had received a tip-off that Salman, a criminal with a reward of 30,000 rupees, was in the Gandhinagar area. Based on this information, the police were monitoring him. As soon as Salman arrived at a tea stall in Ward No. 11 to have tea, the police took immediate action and arrested him.
As soon as workers of the Jai Maa Bhavani Hindu Organisation received news of Salman’s arrest, they immediately rushed to the police station. However, before they arrived, the accused had already been handed over to the Goharganj police.
