Police have apprehended Prajwal Revanna, the primary suspect in Karnataka’s widely discussed sex scandal. Prajwal returned from Germany last night after 34 days, having fled following the scandal’s exposure on April 26. His return was prompted by appeals from his father, grandfather, and other family members.
The SIT investigating the scandal immediately arrested Prajwal upon his arrival at Bengaluru airport. They escorted him to the CID office where he will undergo questioning today. Following a medical examination, he will be presented in the magistrate court. The SIT might request his remand and custody. They will also collect his audio samples to verify his presence in the viral video.
Before his return to India from Germany, Prajwal Revanna filed an anticipatory bail petition in the Karnataka court. His mother submitted the petition to the court, but it was dismissed. The court instructed Prajwal to come back to his country and confront the charges against him. Three women have accused Prajwal of sexual exploitation.

Prajwal Revanna Released A Video From Germany
After his family appealed for his return to the country, Prajwal Revanna released a video from Germany on 27 May. In the video, he stated that he would present himself before the SIT on 31 May. He asserted that the accusations against him are false and unfounded. Prajwal denied ownership of the viral videos, accusing his opponents of orchestrating a conspiracy.
Three days after receiving a warning from his grandfather, Prajwal released a video stating his intention to return to his country. In the video, he apologized to his grandfather and family, mentioning that his trip to Germany had been pre-planned. Prajwal became aware of the viral videos through media and social media. A case has been filed against him, prompting the formation of an SIT and issuance of a lookout notice.
