Nitish Kumar’s sudden shift from the INDIA alliance to the NDA last month, where he left the Congress and his longtime associate Lalu Prasad Yadav to join forces with the Bharatiya Janata Party, was viewed as a significant move. It drew sharp criticism from former allies and was seen as burning bridges, potentially making it difficult for him to mend those relationships, even with his reputation for political maneuvering.

However, that might not be entirely accurate, as while speaking with media Lalu said, “Ab aayenge toh dekh lenge (If he comes back, then we’ll see)”. Lalu Yadav’s unexpected statement came shortly after he encountered Nitish Kumar at the Bihar Assembly, during which his party was nominated Manoj Jha and Sanjay Yadav as its Rajya Sabha candidates.

This encounter marked the first time the two political heavyweights met since Nitish Kumar severed ties with Lalu Yadav and returned to align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.
Tejashwi Yadav, the son of Lalu Yadav, who served twice as the Deputy Chief Minister under Nitish Kumar, had shown less leniency and openly criticized his former boss during the recent trust vote.
