This decision was communicated through a letter submitted to the Lieutenant Governor’s office on Friday, reinforcing AAP’s commitment to collaborate with Omar Abdullah’s administration.
AAP’s Electoral Success In Doda
This announcement follows AAP’s victory in the Doda constituency during the recently concluded Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. Party candidate Mehraj Malik emerged victorious, defeating Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Gajay Singh Rana by a significant margin of 4,538 votes. In a statement, AAP confirmed, “The letter of support has been submitted to the Lt Governor. AAP now has one MLA in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.”

the National Conference showcased a commanding performance in the recent assembly election in which it secured 42 seats, thereby solidifying its position in the region. Congress, AAP’s ally, won six seats, while the BJP claimed 29. Leadership Changes In The National Conference
Following the elections, the National Conference has appointed Omar Abdullah as the leader of its Legislature Party in a meeting in Srinagar. This leadership transition comes as the NC aims to strengthen its influence in the region. Concurrently, the Congress Legislature Party is scheduled to convene, with Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief Tariq Hameed Karra overseeing the selection of their new leader. The chosen leader’s name will be submitted to the party’s high command for final approval.
