For the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday has finally announced its list of candidates. 94 candidates for Ludhiana, 56 for Patiala, and 74 for Amritsar chosen by the party.
AAP has also selected candidates for municipal councils in places like Amloh, Bagha Purana, Machhiwara, Sardulgarh, Rampura Phul, Narot Jaimal Singh Nagar, Khem Karan Nagar, Sahnewal, Phagwara, Mahilpur, Shahkot, Goraya, and Ghagga.
According to reports, the Punjab Election Commission on Wednesday declared that elections for municipal corporations, councils, and Nagar Panchayats (small urban areas) will be held on December 21.

Raj Kamal Chaudhary, the State Election Commissioner, shared that the model code of conduct is now in effect, and all preparations are in place for a fair and peaceful election.
The voting will take place from 7.00 am to 4.00 PM on December 21. After the polls, votes will be counted at the same polling stations. The election schedule is as follows: candidates can submit nominations from December 9 to 12, and these will be checked by December 13. Candidates can withdraw their nominations by December 14.
There are spending limits for candidates in these elections: Rs 4 lakh for Municipal Corporation elections, Rs 3.6 lakh for Municipal Council Class I, Rs 2.3 lakh for Municipal Council Class II, and Rs 2 lakh for Municipal Council Class III. For Nagar Panchayat elections, the spending limit is Rs 1.4 lakh.
Elections will cover 381 wards in municipal corporations and 598 wards in municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats. The final voter list was published on December 7, and copies are available at the offices of the concerned officials.
