Delhi court grants bail to Lalu Yadav, family members in land-for-job scam case
New Delhi: The Rose Avenue Court on Wednesday granted bail to former Bihar’s CM Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi and his daughter Misa Bharti in the job-for-land scam case.
The Delhi Court granted bail to all three on a surety of Rs 50,000.
According to information, The Central Bureau of Investigation did not oppose the bail petition of Lalu Yadav and his family members. The next hearing in this matter is now to be held on March 29.
Lalu Yadav reached Rouse Avenue Court in a wheelchair, Rabri Devi and Misa Bharti were also present before The court.
The Court has observed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed the chargesheet without making any arrests. so, the court directed each of the accused to submit a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and granted bail.
Lalu Yadav and some of his family members are accused of buying land cheaply in exchange for jobs in the railways when RJD chief was Union Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009.
Central probe agency booked them all on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and corruption.
