In India, numerous young people aspire to become civil servants, driven not just by job security but also by a deep sense of pride in wearing the khaki uniform and serving the nation. However, clearing the civil service exams is a formidable challenge that requires unwavering dedication, often demanding years of relentless effort to achieve success in UPSC. Recently, a nine-year-old boy in Varanasi had his wish fulfilled when he became an IPS officer for a day. The child, who is battling a brain tumor, is currently receiving treatment at Mahamana Cancer Hospital in Uttar Pradesh.

According to ADG Zone Varanasi, Ranveer Bharti, a young boy with aspirations of becoming a civil servant, was granted the opportunity by the administrative department in Uttar Pradesh to serve as an IPS officer for a day.

The ADG Zone Varanasi posted images on X (formerly Twitter) depicting Ranveer dressed in a police uniform, seated inside a cabin. He was accompanied by senior officers of the UP Police, who posed for photos with him.

Several officers were seen shaking hands with Ranveer, who sat in a chair, and saluting him, demonstrating respect for his honorary rank. The police personnel concluded with a group photograph alongside Ranveer.

ADG Zone Varanasi shared on X, ‘9-year-old Ranveer Bharti, undergoing treatment for a brain tumor at Mahamana Cancer Hospital, Varanasi, expressed his wish to become an IPS officer. We fulfilled his wish here at ADG Zone Varanasi.’

The heartfelt gesture captured the attention of many users who praised the department. One commenter remarked, ‘You have touched many hearts with this single post.’

Impressed by the initiative, another user remarked, ‘Sir, you have won my heart. I salute you wholeheartedly.’
