Kekat Jalgaon: Approximately 80 students from a district council school in Kekat Jalgaon village, located in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, were hospitalized after consuming biscuits provided as part of a nutritional meal program, according to officials.
Symptoms of Food Poisoning
The children began experiencing symptoms of nausea and vomiting after eating the biscuits around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The incident prompted a swift response from the village head and other authorities, who arranged immediate transportation for the affected students to a nearby hospital.

Medical Response and Treatment
The students were taken to a rural hospital where their condition was reported as stable. Dr. Babasaheb Ghughe, a medical officer at the hospital, mentioned that 257 students showed signs of food poisoning, with 153 of them being brought to the hospital for treatment. While most were treated and discharged, seven students who exhibited more severe symptoms were transferred to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Civil Hospital for further care.
Investigation Underway
The school, which has a total of 296 students, is now under investigation to determine the cause of the food poisoning incident.
