8-Year-Old Domestic Worker Rescued from Employers in Noida Society

A eight-year old girl who was working as domestic staffer at an apartment in Noida sector 137 was rescued from her employer, who was allegedly tortured her for the past year.

Noida police mentioned that, the girl was sent to a Child protection home and investigation is underway against the couple.

Police stated that, her statement would be recorded on Thursday. A Station house officer, Sector 142, Greater Noida, mentioned that, “We have not registered an FIR against the couple yet”.

He added by saying that, medical examination of the child has been conducted.

Chairperson Of Child Welfare Committee KC Virmani’s Statement

“After the medical examination was conducted, it confirmed some injuries on her body. She also recorded her statement before us. We have directed the police to begin the investigation,” said KC Virmani, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee.

Virmani confirmed that the girl is at shelter home.

CWC Chairperson, KC Virmani said that, “She told us that after her father passed away three years ago, her mother married again. So, when her maternal uncle told her mother about this Noida couple who wanted a young domestic staffer, she readily agreed to send her daughter away. The child arrived in Noida with her uncle and aunt sometime last year”.

The girl was brought to NCR last year from Bokaro city in Jharkhand. Apart from doing household work girl was told to take care of couple’s child.

As reported by TOI, Abhimanyu Bansal, resident of the society said, he saw the girl hiding in his lawn on Monday morning around 8:30 am. “I had just woken up and walked to the balcony when I saw the girl, dressed in blue tees. I thought she was the daughter of a resident and went down to stop her from dirtying her clothes. When I asked her where she lived, she said she had run away from her employers in Tower O because they would beat her often. She was hiding in the basement all night and came out only in the morning” said Bansal.

After this Abhimanyu informed his neighbour, Tarun Rai who is another resident of the society about the girl. Then Rai 1098 but couldn’t connect with them.

Tarun Rai told TOI that “”So, we called police. Cops arrived in half an hour and they informed Childline.”

The girl told police, she ran away as her “madam” hit her with a stick.
