New Delhi: Union Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday informed that 70 per cent work of the crucial India-Myanmar-Thailand trilateral Highway had been completed.  India, Thailand and Myanmar are working together on about 1,400 km long highway. The Highway would give a boost to trade by linking the southeast countries. The ambitious project would strengthen the relationship between the health, education and tourism sectors of the three countries.  The Highway will connect Manipur, a  northeastern state in India, to Sot in Thailand via Myanmar.  Though the minister did not give any details on the timeline for completion of the trilateral highway.  Earlier, it was expected to be operational in 2029.
