New Delhi: India’s fourth semi-high-speed intercity train, Vande Bharat Express, is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Himachal Pradesh’s Una district on Thursday.

Officials said that the train will chug from Delhi to Amb-Andaura Railway station in Una and will run six days a week except on Wednesdays, news agency PTI reports.

The train will have stops at Ambala, Chandigarh, Anandpur Sahib, and Una.

Reports suggest that following inauguration by PM Modi on 13th October, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will take the maiden ride to New Delhi in the same train.

PM Modi flags off Vande Bharat Express from Gandhinagar

Last month, PM Modi flagged off the third Vande Bharat Express between Gandhinagar and Mumbai. He also took a ride between Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad.

Talking about the features of this train, Sumit Thakur, CPRO, Western Railway Zone had said, “Vande Bharat Express offers many superior facilities that will provide the passengers with a luxurious travel experience and advanced state-of-the-art safety features, including an indigenous developed Train Collision Avoidance System is also in place.”

The train has been provided with bogies with fully suspension traction motors for an operating speed of 160 kmph, along with advanced state-of-the-art suspension to ensure a smooth and safe journey and better ride comfort for the passengers, Thakur added.
