Airports across India that were closed during the recent military conflict with Pakistan are now being reopened, after both countries agreed to a ceasefire.
The airspace restrictions were put in place after Indian forces carried out strikes on nine terrorist sites in Pakistan on May 7, under Operation Sindoor. This led to a four-day military standoff between the two nation.
On May 10, India and Pakistan agreed to stop fighting on land, water, and sea. However, Pakistan briefly broke this agreement, leading to a
strong response from India.
At the moment, 32 airports in India remain closed, and 25 flight routes are still suspended. These restrictions were first set to end on Saturday morning but were later extended until 5:29 AM on May 15.
