External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar on Tuesday said that more than 30,000 delegates from across the world witnessed our ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ spirit during the G-20 summit.

Addressing the G20 University Connect Finale virtually, Jaishankar said, “Over 30,000 delegates from 125 countries had the opportunity to witness our embodiment of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ and to immerse themselves in the vibrant and welcoming India, fully prepared to embrace the world.”
“We successfully moved the G20 summit beyond the confines of the capital city and traditional convention centers, transforming it into a widespread movement. It genuinely became a G20 for the people, with ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (public participation) at its core,” he said.

“India has taken a major step in catering to the youth by introducing the Startup 20 Engagement Group, marking it as the inaugural initiative of its kind within the G20,” MEA Jaishankar stated.
Speaking to the students, faculty members, and Vice Chancellors of the participating Universities, the External Affairs Minister celebrated India’s position as the G20 chair this year, emphasizing, “Our G20 presidency has truly become a nationwide celebration with more than 220 events taking place in over 60 cities across all states and Union Territories of the country.”

Referring to the Bharat Mandapam, the venue of the G-20 summit, External Affairs Minister asserted “We achieved significant milestones within this establishment, including the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 group, the formulation of a green development pact and action plan for Sustainable Development Goals, the establishment of high-level principles against corruption, and garnering support for digital public infrastructure and the reform of multilateral development agreements.”
The G20 University Connect Finale was attended at the event venue by approximately 3,000 students, faculty members, and Vice Chancellors from the participating universities. Furthermore, students from all over the country have also joined the event through the live broadcast.
