In an ongoing counter-terrorism operation in Srinagar’s Harwan area, Kashmir, three terrorists were gunned down by the Indian army. The army confirmed the deaths via a post on X, stating, “Three terrorists neutralised in an intense firefight during Operation Mahadev.”

According to an army spokesperson, the encounter started in Lidwas area and the operation is still going on. Giving information on X handle, Chinar Corps mentioned, “Operation Mahadev: Contact has been established in Lidwas area. Operation is going on.”

According to officials, the encounter took place during a joint search and cordon operation of police, army and CRPF, which was being carried out in the forests of Mulnar near Dachigam National Park. Firing started after security forces reached the suspected spot, to which the terrorists also responded with firing.

Amid the search operation in the area, two rounds of firing were heard from a distance. Officials said that additional security forces have also been sent to the spot to further intensify the operation and search for terrorists.
