In a significant breakthrough for security forces, three terrorists including longest surviving Lashkar Commander Usman were killed during twin encounters in the Kashmir Valley today, marking a decisive victory in ongoing anti-terror operations. The encounters took place in the districts of Anantnag and Srinagar, where a substantial cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the slain terrorists.
The first encounter unfolded in the Shangus Larnoo forest area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, where two terrorists, a foreigner and a local identified as Zahid, were neutralized. The terrorist group was involved in the killing of one non local vendor and territorial army soldier Hilal Ahmed in south Kashmir. The operation commenced following actionable intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the region. Security forces, comprising police and army units, swiftly engaged the terrorists, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire. As the search operation continues, reports indicate that one more terrorist may still be trapped in the vicinity.
A senior police officer, speaking to News24, confirmed that reinforcements have been dispatched to the area to prevent any potential escape of the remaining terrorist. Authorities remain optimistic about neutralizing the threat as the operation progresses.

In a separate major encounter that began earlier today in the Khanyar area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district, a top commander of the Pakistani terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba was killed, top police sources said that Terrorist Killed in Khanyar Srinagar Encounter has been identified as LeT commander Usman, one of the longest surviving foreign terrorist Commander in Kashmir Valley. Officials said that Usman’s killing is a major blow to Lashker in Kashmir Valley, aged around 40 Usman was responsible for the multiple terrorist activities in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir.
This Anti-terrorist operation in Srinagar was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding terrorist activities in the Khanyar locality. As security forces conducted a cordon and search operation, they came under fire from the terrorists, leading to a prolonged gunfight that lasted throughout the day.
Additionally, security forces are conducting another anti-terror operation in Bandipora, North Kashmir, following an earlier exchange of fire on Friday evening. During this incident, two pithu bags believed to be linked to terrorist activities were recovered by the forces.
These recent operations come in response to a surge in terrorist activities across the region, particularly following attacks in Gagengiar, Gulmarg, and Budgam. Notably, on Friday evening, two non-local labourers were shot and injured by terrorists in Budgam’s Mazhama area. In light of these escalating threats, security agencies are on high alert and remain committed to ensuring peace and safety across the region.
