The historic three-day Devika Baisakhi mela commenced today with great zeal and enthusiasm on the banks of holy Devika rivulet in Udhampur district.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur -Saloni Rai along with DDC Chairman – Lal Chand, MLA Udhampur West – Pawan Kumar Gupta and various officers of district formally inaugurated the Mela and the cultural bonanza marked the beginning of the festivities.

Various departmental stalls with handful information for the general public are installed at the Mela site which were inspected by the chief guests. A Plantation drive was also done in the devika premises on the occasion.
Many toy shops, eateries and other attractions shops for the visitors are also installed in the Mela which attracted hundreds of locals from Udhampur and its adjoining villages. The beautifully decorated River Devak served as a stunning backdrop, enhancing the overall ambiance and making the event a visual delight for all attendees.
The District Administration had meticulously arranged for uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water, sanitation, medical facilities, a control room and security measures to ensure the smooth celebration of the mela.
