20-Year-Old Drunk Driver In Mercedes Benz Runs Over Woman In Bengaluru

The Kengeri traffic police quickly acted and arrested Dhanush who is now in jail for 14 days judicial custody. He is charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

In a tragic incident that occurred in Kengreri, Bangalore a 30-year-old woman lost her life on Saturday evening, after being fatally knocked by an overspeeding luxury car. According to the reports, the driver was a 20-year-old boy named Dhanush and he was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

The casualty, Sandhya was attempting to to cross the road when Dhanush above the legal limit of blood alcohol content lost control of his Benz resulting in a tragic collision.

The Kengeri traffic police acted swiftly and arrested Dhanush who is now in judicial custody for 14 days. He is charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

The officials also singled out his father, Veera Shiva who runs a private bus travel company, as the owner of the car. The police claimed that Dhanush had borrowed the car for a party outing, stopping at a mall near Yeshwanthpur with a friend for drinks before deciding to head to Mysuru Road.

“We have arrested the accused on the spot and he has been taken to police custody.” said the DCP of Traffic West while addressing the media.

In another tragic incident, a 26-year-old delivery agent, who was on his way to pick up his wife, was knocked dead after a speeding car thrust into his bike. The incident took place on November 2 around 10:20 pm on MV Seetharamaiah Road in Gavipura. 

Unfortunately, the victim was en route to KG Nagar when the tragedy happened, which is a strong indication that reckless driving is a major cause of the accidents which occur in the city.
