Two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh were shot and wounded in a terrorist attack in Mazhama area of Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack took place on Friday evening. Both the workers survived the attack and were taken to nearby hospital for treatment. They both are in stable condition says the report. The two workers have been identified as Usman Malik, 20-year-old and Sufiyan, 25-year-old. They both are resident of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Both Usman and Sufiyan were working near Mazhama graveyard, when the assailants fired upon them. TOI quoted police officer who said that one labourer received bullet injuries in his arms and another received in the leg. They both are undergoing treatment at SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, added the police officer.
According to sources, security forces have cordoned off Magam area, in central Kashmir to track down the attackers.
J&K CM Condemns The Attack
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah expressed their condolences and condemned the attack. JKNC posted on X and wrote, “JKNC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed deep sorrow over the terrorist attack on civilians in Mazhama, Budgam, strongly condemning this act of violence. They extend their heartfelt sympathies and prayers to the victims and their families, standing in solidarity with those affected by this tragic incident.”

Increase In Attacks On Non-Locals
Well, there has been an increase in number of attacks on non-locals and migrant workers in the valley. A migrant labourer was shot by terrorists on 24 October in the Tral area of Pulwama district. In similar incident, a bullet-riddled body of Bihar migrant worker was recovered in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on October 18.
Condemning these kind of attacks, CM Omar Abdullah had said, “These attacks are abhorrent & must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.”
