New Delhi: Two people have been arrested from West Bengal for having terror links. They were allegedly involved with the banned terror outfit Al-Qaeda.

Two accused have been arrested by a Special Task Force (STF) in West Bengal. The officers of the STF have rolled out the details of the arrested individuals.

Accused have been identified

One of arrested accused have been identified as Abdur Rakib Sarkar, alias Habibullah and alias Habib. The 37-year-old is a resident of Ausa Panchgam village under the Gangarampur police station of district Dakshin Dinajpur.

Another arrested accused has been identified Kazi Ahasan Ullah alias Hasan. The 32-year-old is a resident of Shamta village under the Topsia police station in Kolkata.

Arrests were made from Kharibari

Both the accused were arrested from the Kharibari area of Sasan police station in Barasat. The arrests have been made due to their involvement with members of the banned terrorist outfit, Al Qaeda in Indian Sub-Continent (AQIS).

Recovered documents hint at waging war against India

AQIS is an affiliate group of Al Qaeda and its members. Several documents concerning highly radicalized thoughts and indicative of waging war against the Union of India, have been seized from their possession. A specific case is being initiated against them and some other accused people for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities.
