Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, is set to host a landmark national event after 61 years. The Diamond Jubilee 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides will take place from November 23 to 29 at the Defence Expo Ground in Vrindavan Yojana. The event is expected to see the participation of over 33,000 people, including around 30,000 Scouts and Guides, unit leaders, and 1,500 international delegates.
Following the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the venue is being transformed into a vibrant “Mini India.” Accommodation for different states is being arranged in the tent city, while the construction of the “Central Arena” for the main events is nearing completion.
The Jamboree will showcase the cultural diversity of India, bringing together traditions, arts, and heritage from every state on a single platform, reinforcing the spirit of national unity. To mark the 75th anniversary of Bharat Scouts and Guides, representatives from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and ten other Asia-Pacific countries will also participate, creating a unique international convergence.
The event blends tradition with innovation. The Department of Science and Technology is setting up a temporary planetarium in the Tent City, where children can explore the sun’s movements by day and stars by night using advanced telescopes. A temporary market and food court will offer cuisines from across the country.
Ensuring seamless connectivity, the Ministry of Telecommunications is installing a dedicated tower and equipment so that over 40,000 participants can communicate with their families without disruption.
The Health Department has set up a 100-bed temporary hospital at the venue, with 50 beds each for men and women, along with 15 dispensaries operating throughout the day. Around 50 doctors and 100 paramedical staff will work in shifts, supported by ambulances and reserved ICU and general beds at nearby hospitals to manage emergencies efficiently.
