Bihar: A recent event in Jamui district, Bihar, made headlines as a young man got married twice within a month. On both occasions, he visited the women’s homes and was caught, leading to his marriages being arranged by villagers. This incident occurred in the Malaypur Police Station area, where a 19-year-old man married two women.

Vinod Kumar, the 19-year-old son of Pradeep Tanti and a resident of Akshara village, connected with Preeti Kumari from Navkadih village in the Lakshmipur police station area through Facebook. It’s reported that despite Preeti being already married and having a child, she and Vinod fell in love, disregarding her previous marriage and family.

Vinod Kumar arranged to meet Preeti on April 22 and visited her home for the encounter. However, to his surprise, villagers noticed them together and swiftly took them to the temple, where they were forcefully married. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Vinod and Preeti started living together as a married couple back at his house.

However, there’s a twist to this love story. Before tying the knot with Preeti, Vinod was involved in an affair with another woman. It’s reported that Vinod, who worked as a DJ in the village, frequently played songs requested by a woman named Girija Kumari. Their conversations gradually led to a close bond, and they fell in love. Despite marrying Preeti Kumari, Vinod stayed in contact with Girija and continued their affair.

He concealed his relationship with Girija Kumari from his initial wife and family. On one occasion, he visited his girlfriend’s house but was once again discovered by villagers. They took the couple to the temple and enforced another marriage. Within a span of 20 days, he found himself married to two women. While his first wife, Preeti, lodged a complaint at the police station regarding her husband’s remarriage, his second wife, Girija, expressed no objection and was willing to live with their family.

Police Officer Mahesh Singh stated that no formal written complaint has been lodged regarding this matter. He added that if a complaint is filed, the police will take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
