In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old boy was sexually assaulted and stabbed to death by 13 boys, some of whom were minors. The incident occurred on the intervening night of June 29 and 30.
Body found in a canal
According to PTI, the boy’s body was found in a canal in Delhi. A senior police officer said a PCR call was received at the Samaypur Badli police station.
Police said that the boy was killed by the group of men, who suspected him of being informant for a rival gang. The rival gang has been identified as the Badhwar brothers.
‘Body was slightly decomposed’
“A young male dead body, which was slightly decomposed, was found lying completely naked with a scarf wrapped around its neck in Munak Canal and several stab wounds all over the body,” news agency quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Hareshwar Swami as saying.
Rape and murder convict in Soumya case escapes from Kannur jail, caught
The convict in the 2011 Soumya rape and murder convict, Govindachamy, was on Friday morning caught hours after he escaped from Kannur Jail.
Earlier today, Govindachamy escaped from Kannur Central Jail in Kannur Town, Police said.
Police had launched a massive manhunt deploying the K-9 squad at the Kannur Central Jail in search of the accused.
According to the police, Govindachamy was serving a life sentence for the rape and murder of 23-year-old Soumya, who was attacked while travelling on a passenger train from Ernakulam to Shoranur on February 1, 2011. Earlier, the Office of the District Police Chief issued a wanted notice for Govindachamy.
