The Bengaluru-Kamakhya Superfast Express suffered multiple train car derails near Nergundi station in Cuttack. In this incident, one person lost his life and several got injured. The incident took place on Sunday. Most survivors who are recovering in the hospital following the train crash come from West Bengal and Assam. Additional authorities reported that emergency personnel gave first aid to individuals with injuries maintained during the railway accident at Nergundi station, as per media reports.
On Kamakhya Express train derailed near Nergundi Railway Station in Cuttack, DM Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde said, "One person has died in the incident...8 people injured needed a referral and have been shifted...An enquiry is being done of the incident..."

Speaking to ANI, H.S. Bajwa Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road Division stated that, "Today Bangalore-Kamakhya Express derailed near Nergundi Railway Station. A special train is being run on the same route which will go to the same destination...After this, the restoration work will commence...We will provide the ex-gratia from the railway...We have also arranged food, water, first aid and buses...NDRF and SDRF are here...An enquiry will be done."
