New Delhi: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led the Union government to take a tough stance against those who cheat with girls hiding their identity. The rule to prevent such acts is part of three bills that the central government introduced for implementing criminal laws in a more efficient way.
According to the new law, cheating women by hiding their religious identity and having physical relations is going to be very costly for the accused. The law has provisions of heavy fines along with severe punishment.
Punishment can be of 10 years
As per the proposed law, if a person makes a physical relationship with a woman by making false promises or deceit, then it will be considered rape and punishment will decide accordingly and he can be punished with up to 10 years imprisonment.
Earlier on the last day of the Monsoon Session, the Union government Friday introduced a bill for a complete overhaul of the Indian criminal laws made implemented during the British era. The Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act will be replaced by the Indian Judicial Code.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced three bills in the Lok Sabha today to replace the Indian Penal Code, CrPC, and the Indian Evidence Act. Presenting it, he said that all these three laws were made by the British, We’re changing them.
The three new laws announced by Amit Shah include the Indian Justice Code, 2023, the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, and the Indian Evidence Bill, 2023.
The Three Bills
The Indian Code of Justice, 2023: The bill brings to consolidate and amend the provisions relating to offenses and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023: The bill brings to consolidate and amend the law pertaining to criminal procedure and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The Indian Evidence Bill, 2023: The bill brings to consolidate and provides for general rules and principles of evidence for a fair judicial trial.
