Bus With 40 Indian Passengers Crashes Into River In Nepal, Casualty Concerns Arise

Uttar Pradesh: A head-on collision between a pickup van and a bus killed ten people in Bulandshahr on August 18. Officials reported that the accident occurred in the Budaun-Meerut state highway left at least 29 injured. The pickup was traveling from Ghaziabad to Sambhal when it collided with a private bus.

DM Chandra Prakash Singh informed the reporters that the injured have been sent to the hospital. They have been admitted to hospitals in Bulandshahr, Meerut, and Aligarh, with one person in critical condition. The labourers employed with a bread company in Ghaziabad were heading towards their native places in Aligarh city in UP to celebrate Rakhi. Four passengers had boarded the vehicle from Dadri.

The speeding bus, in an attempt to overtake another vehicle collided with the pick-up and resulted in the latter losing control and hitting a tree. Meanwhile, the passengers were thrown on the road. The intense crash left the bus driver with major injuries as he got struck in the speeding vehicle. The workers hailing from Aligarh died on Rakshbandhan weekend around 10.15 AM on Sunday. The dead were all men, while the injured included women and children’s.

District Magistrate CP Singh said that Police is investigating the matter. CM Yogi Adityanath has taken reports in the matter. Locals who were present at the spot, immediately rushed and helped transport the victims to hospital in private vehicles and ambulances. They were frustrated with the Police who arrived half an hour later at the accident spot.
