Novo Nordisk has launched its blockbuster weight-loss drug ‘Ozempic’ in India.
It will be sold in the format of 0.25mg, 0.5mg, and 1 mg doses. Monthly prices are 8,800 rupees for 0.25 mg, 10,170 rupees for 0.5 mg, and 11,175 rupees for 1 mg, with each pen covering four weekly doses.
What is Ozempic?
Ozempic is a special kind of weight-loss drug that helps patients struggling with diabetes, a condition where the body has trouble controlling sugar levels in the blood.
It’s an injection that you only need to take once a week. Ozempic helps control blood sugar levels in the body and even makes people feel less hungry, so it can also help with weight loss.
How Does Ozempic Help?
Ozempic contains an ingredient called semaglutide, which is also in another medicine called Wegovy.
Even though Ozempic is mainly for diabetes, it can also be used for weight loss, as it’s also used by some people to lose weight because it helps you not feel as hungry and makes you feel full for longer.

This drug should only be prescibed only by endocrinologists or internal medicine specialists and is not intended for cosmetic use.
