New Delhi: Samriddhi Mishra, a resident of Lucknow, has secured the first position in CLAT (Common Law Admission Test), the top-level examination conducted for law studies across the country. Samriddhi Mishra studies at Lucknow University and is only 24 years old. Samriddhi has secured the first position in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) owing to her brilliant performance. After her success, News24 had a conversation with Samriddhi Mishra where she talks about her preparation tactics, time management, how to cope with pressure, preparation strategy and a lot more. Samriddhi Mishra hoped for success
Samriddhi Mishra, while talking to News24, said that there was a slight expectation of clearing CLAT 2022. She further said that she was well prepared for this exam, so she was not much surprised by this success. She further said that she had attempted the CLAT exam in which she had secured 138th rank. She further said that she was confident enough because of her result from the previous result. She said that she had worked really hard so she was able to secure 1st rank.
Samriddhi Mishra credits her success to elder brother
Samriddhi told that after studying from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Lucknow, she did LLB (Hons) from Lucknow University. She had obtained her LLM degree from Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Samriddhi’s father is a lawyer in Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court. Her mother is social worker and city minister, and elder brother is an engineer graduate and works in Infosys. She wants to attribute her success to her elder brother, who inspired her a lot.
Achievement through self-study
While talking to News24, Samriddhi said that self-study was the core of her preparation. She said that the notes she made during her graduation helped in the preparation of this exam. She had kept an eye on the verdicts given by the Supreme Court for the last two years. She used to dedicate only 2 hours for this exam and rest of her time was dedicated to prepare for other law exams. She was also preparing for other competitive exams like judicial service and law exams of other states. For all this, she studies for 5-6 hours a day.
Social media gives no visible benefits
Samriddhi told that during the preparation of the exam, she kept herself away from all the social media platforms and was busy preparing for the exam. She said that these things have little to no importance in life and no visible benefit can be extracted out of it. She further said that she used to study from 4 am as she is unlike most students who study till late night and found it more beneficial.
Staying with family minimizes stress
Samriddhi told News24 that while preparing for such exams everyone faces mental pressure, but we should not take a lot of pressure. If you are experiencing mental stress it is better to distance yourself from the studies and talk to your parents. It is also better to talk to someone who understands you well. They are more likely to imbibe you with positive thoughts. She said that her elder brother was the one who always extended his support in time of distress.
Attempt questions that you know, avoid negative
On being asked about her preparation Samriddhi Mishra said that the standard of CLAT exam has increased from the last few years. Therefore, whether it is a sample paper or a mock test, they are not of much importance now. She further said that used to give online mock tests, but she did not get much benefit in the attempts made by her in last 3 years.
However, she reaped the benefits of previous year paper this time. Owing to the vastness of the CLAT syllabus she prepared by segregating the topics into various segments. She also said that while attempting the examination she solved the questions in which she was confident enough. She also made sure to avoid such questions that can get her negative markings. She said both the things are equally important.
Success Mantra for new students
Samriddhi Mishra said that all the people preparing for this exam should concentrate on covering the important verdicts given by various courts. Before preparing for the exam, looking at the 50 big recent verdicts is essential. These should include decisions that have been discussed throughout the year. Before attempting the exam it is very crucial to clear the fundamentals.
Exam is not difficult, regular study is the key
Samriddhi Mishra said that CLAT exam is not difficult, and it can be cracked easily with just self-study. In her opinion, coaching is not required for CLAT exam. She said that the application fee of Rs 4000 is very high and hence many deserving students are unable to attempt the exam. She vehemently said that the coaching culture should end.
While talking to News 24 Samriddhi Mishra said in a conversation with News24 that one does not need coaching or drop out for preparation. I was giving only 2 hours a day for the last 3 months and in the last days of the exam, I was giving full time to the preparation.
