Zarine Khan, Sussanne Khan and Zayed Khan's mother and Sanjay Khan's wife, passed away on Thursday at the age of 81. She reportedly died due to age-related ailments and took her last breath at her residence in Mumbai.
Zarine Khan acted in a few movies including Tere Ghar Ke Saamne and Ek Phool Do Mali before stepping away from the limelight. She married Sanjay Khan in 1966. Their marriage was considered unconventional at that time as Zarine was Parsi and Sanjay Khan is Muslim.

After quitting acting, she became an interior designer. She also wrote cookbook 'Family Secrets: The Khan Family Cookbook'.

A few months back, Sussane Khan penned a heartfelt note on Instagram for her month to extend birthday wishes. She wrote, '‘Mama Mia…' My My.. what an amazing Mama you are… Happiest happy birthday my gorgeous beautiful mommy.. all that I do and All that I create in my Life has to do with the way you formed my heart, my mind n my grit..
