Following the strong reception of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Marvel has confirmed that the animated series will continue with a second and third season. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, revealed that production is progressing well, with all scripts completed and half of the animatics already finished.
However, despite the progress, the next season is unlikely to arrive before 2026. Given Marvel’s usual release schedule, it is speculated that Season 2 could premiere in January 2026, exactly a year after the first season debuted.
What To Expect From The Plot
Though Marvel has not released an official synopsis, the Season 1 finale offered several hints about where the story might go next.
One of the biggest revelations was the appearance of Peter Parker’s father, Richard Parker, who was shown in prison. His unexpected return raises several questions, like why is he behind bars, and how will Peter react to this discovery?
Meanwhile, the finale also hinted at major villainous developments. Doctor Octopus appears to be planning an escape, while Norman Osborn’s growing ambition suggests he may take a darker turn. Additionally, the alien symbiote seen in the finale could set the stage for the arrival of Venom in Season 2.
Will Peter Be In His Second Year?
Initially, Season 2 was set to be titled Sophomore Year, indicating that Peter would continue his journey through high school. Although the subtitle has since been dropped, the storyline may still follow Peter’s second year as both a student and a superhero.

There is currently no trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2, but with production moving swiftly, a teaser could be released soon. Marvel may choose to unveil it at major events like San Diego Comic-Con or D23, where they typically showcase upcoming projects.
For now, all episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 1 are available to stream on Disney+.
