Diljit Dosanjh took Delhi by storm with his two-day concert at JLN Stadium. However, the concert has now been receiving backlash from athletes as it has left the stadium in extremely poor condition. International athlete Beant Singh has called out the organisers of Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at JLN Stadium as the people have left it with garbage and debris. He shared a video of the poor state of the stadium on Instagram and expressed his anger at the poor condition of athletes in India.
Beant Singh said in the video, “Ye aukat hai India me sports ki, sportsperson ki aur stadium ki. Yahan par bachche practise karte hain aur yahan par daru pikar log naach gana karte hain aur das das din ke lie stadium band rehta hai. Aur jo bachcho ka samaan hota hai, practise karne ke equipment hote hain usko tod fod karke fenk diya jata hai. (This is the status of sports, sportspersons, and stadiums in India. Athletes practice here, but people drink alcohol and hold music events here, keeping the stadium closed for ten days at a time. The equipment and practice gear of athletes have been broken and thrown around.)”
According to reports, over 70,000 people attended the concert in Delhi in two days.
The concert was also in the news after many fans were scammed. According to PTI, one fan revealed that he bought tickets from someone outside the venue but it turned out to be fake. The fan told PTI, “It was a total waste to come here.” Revealing how he was turned away by security, he shared, “I came here without a ticket and met someone who sold me a fake one. They charged me a lot of money for it.”
The tour organizers had warned fans to only buy the tickets from the authorised seller – ZomatoLive. Despite this warning, many fans were scammed.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) earlier raided around 20 locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore in relation to the black market performance by ticket scalpers of Coldplay’s forthcoming “Music of the Spheres” tour and Diljit Dosanjh’s “Dilluminati” tour. The ED’s investigation is based on allegations of unauthorized ticket resale, ticket scams through fake tickets and exorbitant ticket prices.
The raid was conducted on 13 simultaneously in several cities and mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards were confiscated by the ED.
After Delhi, Diljit Dosanjh will next perform in Jaipur.
