Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh mocked Spanish luxury fashion brand Balenciaga when he saw a photographer wearing its outfit at actress Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding reception.
“Why are you wearing Balenciaga here?” Honey Singh questioned, adding, “Never wear Balenciaga. Look it up on Google, there’s a bad controversy about it. I’ve burned all my Balenciaga clothes. They are bad people.”
He continued, “This is my best friend’s wedding, and I’m really happy. She found the best guy in Zaheer. I met him three years ago, and he’s an amazing guy. I hope he will keep her happy. Otherwise, we’ll see about that.”
In 2022, Balenciaga faced criticism for two ad campaigns accused of “sexualizing children.” In response, the luxury fashion brand apologized and filed a $25 million lawsuit against its production company, North Six Inc. One campaign depicted children posing with plush teddy bear bags featuring bondage-themed elements. Another campaign included photos featuring Supreme Court documents related to a child pornography case. Balenciaga later removed the controversial photos and posted a thorough apology on Instagram.

Balenciaga accepted responsibility for the controversial photos and ads depicting children with bondage-themed bags. They attributed part of the fault for the second ad to a “third party,” specifically North Six Inc. This photoshoot involved using court papers from the 2008 Supreme Court case, United States v Williams, as props.
