Criteria for state funeral
A state funeral is given to an individual who made a significant contribution in their field and brought glory to the nation. Such funerals are in the form of military honours, gun salutes, and the national flag on the individual’s mortal remains.
The criteria include the person’s eligibility through their past credentials, legal viability, and the state government’s decision after assessing the contributions.
The state chief minister takes consultation from the cabinet and assesses the contribution of the individual in the respective field.
