Hybe Labels is one of the most successful multinational entertainment companies in South Korea and has given the world popular Kpop groups like BTS, Seventeen, and NewJeans, among others. Amid the massive success, the company has now been facing a huge backlash with ‘Hybe Apologise To V’, ‘Hybe Apologise To Blackpink’, and ‘Jungkook Leave Hybe’ trending on social media. This backlash has been caused after the internal reports of HYBE following the National Assembly State Audit surfaced online. The report alleged that Hybe tried to sabotage V’s solo album ‘Layover’ and also tried to create a negative campaign against BLACKPINK and Lisa.
Reason behind Hybe Apologise To V trend:
HYBE allegedly overstocked albums for other artists but did not have enough stock for V’s album ‘Layover’. The company allegedly did not defend BTS artists against online hate caused by DC Gallery, which is also a Korean online forum. Some fan pages even claim that Hybe planted negative comments against V to sway public opinion as he refused to work with internal BigHit Music producers and directors.
V and Jungkook earlier sued YouTuber Sojang for spreading false rumours but Hybe was allegedly subscribed to YouTuber’s membership.

Why BLACKPINK and Lisa’s fans are also upset:
Soon after ‘Hybe Apologise To V’, BLINKs also asked the company to apologise to Lisa and BLACKPINK. According to reports, Hybe allegedly tried to launch a negative campaign against Lisa and her fandom Lillies. Several fans also claim that Hybe was closely monitoring every move of BLACKPINK.
Apology Letter Of HYBE’s CEO:
Later, HYBE’s CEO Lee Jae Sang issued an apology letter after the audit reports surfaced. The letter said, “As CEO of HYBE, I would like to apologize for the HYBE monitoring documents. I would like to bow my head and apologize to artists, industry officials, and fans for our monitoring document that was pointed out by the National Assembly Committee on Culture, Sports, and Tourism on October 24th.”
“We would like to respectfully and formally apologize to the external artists named in the document who have been harmed and hurt. We are reaching out to each agency separately to apologize directly, and we are also extending a sincere and formal apology to all of the artists within Hybe Music Group who have been targeted by the company,” it added.
