Who Was Priya Marathe? Pavitra Rishta Actor Passes Away At 38 After Battling Cancer

Television actress Priya Marathe, fondly remembered as Varsha from Pavitra Rishta, passed away in Mumbai at 38 after a year-long battle with cancer.

Television actress and comedian Priya Marathe, best known for her role as Varsha Satish in Pavitra Rishta, passed away in Mumbai on August 31, 2025, after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 38 years old.

According to Maharashtra Times, Marathe had been undergoing treatment for cancer for over a year but could not recover. She breathed her last on Sunday morning.

Who Was Priya Marathe?

Priya was born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai, where she also completed her studies before joining the entertainment industry.

She started her career with Marathi serials like Ya Sukhanoya and Char Divas Sasuche. Later, she entered Hindi television with Balaji Telefilms’ Kasamh Se and also showed her comic side in the first season of Comedy Circus.

Her role as Varsha Satish in Zee TV’s Pavitra Rishta made her widely popular. Over the years, she appeared in many well known shows, including Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Tu Tithe Me, Bhaage Re Mann, Jayastute, and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. Priya married actor Shantanu Moghe in 2012.
