Veteran mimicry artist Suresh Krishna, popularly known as Pala Suresh, was found dead at his residence in Piravom on Sunday. He was 53. He was said to be suffering from heart disease and was undergoing treatment at Kottayam Medical College Hospital.
When he did not wake up as usual on Sunday morning, the family became suspicious. When the door was broken, he was found unconscious. He was immediately taken to Piravam Taluk Hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. Initial investigations revealed that he died of cardiac arrest during sleep.
Who Was Pala Suresh?
Pala Suresh, who was active in the mimicry and comedy world for nearly three decades, made a special identity with his art. He became especially famous for his perfect imitation of former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. His accurate comedy and mimicry made him very popular among the stage audience.
He also left his mark in films, TV and comedy programs. He played a journalist in the 2013 Malayalam film ABCD: American-Born Confused Desi. The film was directed by Martin Prakkat and featured Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role.

He was professionally associated with the Kollam based Narma Troupe and was also active for a long time with another stage group called Cochin Rasika. His performances on various stages made him one of the versatile mimicry artists of his generation.
Personal Life
Born into the Vettathukunnel family from Vellilappilly, Ramapuram, Pala Suresh was the son of the late Balachan and Omana. He is survived by his wife Deepa, daughter Devananda (a nursing student in Germany), and son Devakrishna.
