Jaswinder Bhalla, a very popular comedian of Punjabi cinema, passed away on August 22 at the age of 65. He was admitted to Fortis Hospital, where he breathed his last early in the morning. His last rites will be performed on August 23 at 12 noon at Balongi crematorium in Mohali.

Jaswinder Bhalla was famous for his comic roles in Punjabi cinema, which were a major part of his career spanning nearly thirty years. He made his debut in the acting world with popular comedy films like Dulha Bhatti and also starred in Jaspal Bhatti's Hindi comedy Mahaul Theek Hai (1999).

Over time, he appeared in superhit Punjabi films like Jatt & Juliet, Sardarji, and Carry On Jatta. His portrayal of 'Advocate Dhillon' in the Carry On Jatta franchise made him popular among audiences of all ages.

He used different dialogues and catchphrases to make his characters special, which made even his smallest roles stick in the minds of the audience.

Jaswinder Bhalla was married to Paramdeep, a fine arts teacher in Chandigarh. Their son, Pukhraj Bhalla, is also an actor. Initially an engineer, Pukhraj followed in his father's footsteps and first worked in music videos in the 2000s, and later appeared in a few films. Both father and son starred together in the 2013 film "Stupid 7".
