Veteran Hollywood actress Diane Ladd passed away at the age of 89. The news of her demise was confirmed by her daughter, Laura Dern, who is also an actress. Diane Ladd received three Academy Award nominations and had a career spanning around seven decades.
While paying tribute to her mother, Laura Dern wrote, “She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created. We were blessed to have her. She is flying with her angels now.”

Diane Ladd was best known for her roles in the movies Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Wild At Heart and Rambling Rose. She also appeared in Chinatown, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Ghosts Of Mississippi, Primary Colors, 28 Days and Joy.
Born in 1935 in Mississippi, Diane Ladd started her career in showbiz in 1971 with the show ‘The Secret Room’. In 1974, she played a supporting role in ‘Chinatown’. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in ‘Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’.

She appeared in several television shows like Decoy, Naked City, Wide Country, Perry Mason, Hazel, The Fugitive, Shane, Ironside, The Secret Storm, City Of Angels, Black Beauty, Alice, Celebration Family, LA Law, Sisters, Living With The Dead, Cold Case, to name a few.
The veteran actress also appeared in the sitcom ‘Young Sheldon’ in 2021. She was last seen in the movie ‘Isle Of Hope’ in 2024.
