Filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, best known for The Family Man, has officially married Samantha Ruth Prabhu, confirming what fans had been speculating for months. Samantha shared the news on Instagram on Monday, posting intimate moments from their beautiful ceremony with the caption “01.12.2025” and white heart emojis.
With their relationship now public and official, interest has shifted towards Raj’s personal and professional background.
Who is Raj Nidimoru?
Raj Nidimoru is a well known filmmaker from India. He is famous as one half of the directing and writing duo Raj & DK. His partnership with Krishna D.K. began in 2002 when they made their first short film called Shaadi. Since then, Raj and DK have created some of the most popular shows and films in Indian entertainment. One of their biggest hits is The Family Man, a series appreciated for its thrilling plot and clever mix of action and humour.
Raj was born in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. He studied engineering in India and later moved to the United States for further studies. Even after shifting abroad, he continued working on creative projects. Together with Krishna DK, he started D2R Films, a production house known for unique and interesting stories.
Raj has co-directed or written projects like Farzi, Guns and Gulaabs, Shor in the City, A Gentleman, Go Goa Gone, and Happy Ending.
In his personal life, Raj was earlier married to Shhyamali De. Reports suggest they got divorced in 2022. Samantha was earlier married to actor Naga Chaitanya, and the two parted ways in 2021 after four years of marriage.
Samantha and Raj first worked together on The Family Man 2 in 2021, which was her first OTT project. They later teamed up for Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024 and will appear together in the upcoming Netflix series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom.
