On Monday, some unidentified men opened fire on Haryanvi singer and rapper Rahul Fazilpuria’s car near SPR Road in Gurugram. According to initial information, the assailants fired two to three bullets and fled from the spot. While no injuries were reported, authorities have yet to officially confirm whether the shooting took place as described.
Who Is Rahul Fazilpuria?
Rahul Yadav, popularly known by his stage name Rahul Fazilpuria, hails from Fazilpur village near Gurugram. He made his mark with the song ‘Larki Beautiful Kar Gayi Chul’, which later appeared in the film ‘Kapoor and Sons’.
Songs like ’32 Bore’, ‘Jimmy Choo’, ‘Party’, and ‘Millionaire’ gave him a special place in the Haryanvi music scene. Along with the combination of desi flavour and urban beats, has carved a niche in the Haryanvi music scene. He has also collaborated with many Bollywood stars and famous YouTubers.
Net Worth
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from Gurugram on behalf of the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), where he faced BJP leader Rao Inderjit Singh. According to the nomination papers, he declared assets worth around Rs 2.8 crore, including immovable assets worth Rs 2.6 crore and movable assets worth Rs 16.3 lakh.
Controversies
Rahul’s name along with YouTuber Elvish Yadav came up in a high profile case in which the illegal purchase and sale of snake venom and live snakes was being investigated. In this case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had seized several of his properties in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and also questioned both the artists for a long time.
Rahul Fazilpuria has not yet given any official reaction on this shooting incident.
