It’s a landmark moment for Huma Qureshi both on and off screen. Her film Bayaan premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025, marking her debut at TIFF not just as an actor but also as an executive producer. At the same time, rumours are spreading that she is engaged to her long time boyfriend, acting coach Rachit Singh.
The buzz intensified after their mutual friend, singer Akasa Singh, posted a photo with the two of them, congratulating Huma with the caption, “Congratulations on your little piece of heaven with the best name, Huma. Had the best night.” The cryptic note instantly sparked speculation of an engagement.
Who is Rachit Singh?
Rachit is a well known name in the industry, having trained top stars like Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and Vicky Kaushal. He also made his on-screen debut in the series Karmma Calling. His bond with Huma has often made headlines as the two were previously spotted together at Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s party for Ed Sheeran in March 2024, where their chemistry caught attention.

Though neither Huma nor Rachit has confirmed the engagement rumours, the pair has frequently been seen together at private gatherings, most recently at a birthday party.
Meanwhile, Huma’s film Bayaan received a grand reception at TIFF 2025, with the actress expressing excitement about her dual role as performer and producer. Speaking to HTCity about Bayaan’s TIFF screening, she said: “I see it as a film that I vibed with. The film always had the potential to be an India-centric story with a global approach. I’m happy the film is being screened at TIFF and the Busan International Film Festival. I’ve always been interested in a global career, one that takes Indian stories to the world. The stories remain Indian, but the approach is global.”
